Effective August 28, 2026
Terms & Conditions
These terms govern your use of the Good Book iOS application, website, scripture tools, reflections, and AI-assisted discussion features.
1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and Idioglossia, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). They apply when you access or use the Good Book mobile application, website, widgets, and related services (together, the “Service”).
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. The app license made available through Apple is also subject to Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which is incorporated into these Terms.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 years old to use Good Book. If you are under the age at which you can enter a binding agreement where you live, a parent or legal guardian must review and accept these Terms for you. Good Book is not directed to children under 13.
You must provide accurate account information, protect your credentials, and promptly tell us if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless caused by our failure to use reasonable security measures.
3. What Good Book provides
Good Book is a personal scripture discovery, reading, saving, reflection, and study service. The current app includes the Berean Standard Bible, locally generated scripture selections, a contextual reader, favorites, private reflections, sharing tools, local reminders, a Home Screen widget, and optional AI-assisted discussions.
Some reading and saved-content features can operate offline after setup. Account creation, synchronization across devices, recovery, AI features, and some service updates require an internet connection. Features and free usage limits may differ by account tier and may change as the Service develops.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of content you create in Good Book, including reflections and questions (“User Content”). You give us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, copy, transmit, process, and display User Content only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, synchronize, and support the Service, comply with law, and enforce these Terms. This license ends when the content and related backups are deleted, except where lawful retention is required.
Reflections and discussion history are private account content; we do not publish them to other users. Content you intentionally export through the iOS share sheet is sent to the destination you choose and is then governed by that destination’s terms and privacy practices.
You are responsible for User Content you submit and must have the right to provide it. Do not submit content that is unlawful, abusive, infringing, or that violates another person’s privacy.
5. AI-assisted features
Good Book uses third-party artificial-intelligence services to generate discussion responses and conversation titles. AI output is generated probabilistically and may be incomplete, inaccurate, anachronistic, misleading, or inconsistent with your faith tradition. It is not a substitute for scripture itself or for advice from a qualified clergy member, scholar, counselor, physician, attorney, or other professional.
Do not rely on AI output for medical, mental-health, legal, financial, safety-critical, or emergency decisions. If you are in danger or facing an emergency, contact local emergency services or an appropriate qualified professional. Review generated responses and verify important claims with reliable sources.
Questions, relevant scripture context, prior messages in the conversation, and reflection text you deliberately send to the reflection companion may be transmitted to AI service providers as explained in the Privacy Policy.
6. Acceptable use
You may not use the Service to:
- break the law or violate another person’s rights;
- harass, threaten, exploit, or impersonate another person;
- upload malware or interfere with the Service or another account;
- probe, bypass, or defeat security, rate limits, access controls, or paid entitlements;
- scrape or access the Service through unauthorized automated means;
- extract, reverse engineer, or misuse models, prompts, source code, or content except where applicable law expressly permits it; or
- use AI features to generate unlawful or materially harmful content.
7. Subscriptions, trials, and Apple billing
Good Book may offer optional premium access through an auto-renewing App Store subscription. Before purchase, the app will display the subscription name, duration, price, included features, and any trial terms that apply. The price shown in the Apple purchase confirmation controls and may vary by country, currency, tax, or future offering.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- A subscription automatically renews for the same period unless you cancel it before the end of the current billing period. Apple may charge the renewal shortly before the period ends.
- A free trial converts to the displayed paid subscription unless canceled before the trial ends. Eligibility for introductory offers is determined by Apple.
- You can manage or cancel through Apple subscription settings. Deleting Good Book or deleting your Good Book account does not itself cancel an Apple subscription.
- Apple processes billing and refunds. Refund eligibility is governed by Apple and applicable law; requests may be submitted through reportaproblem.apple.com.
We do not receive your full payment-card details. Restoring a valid purchase may require the Apple Account used for the original transaction.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, excluding User Content and identified third-party material, is owned by Idioglossia, LLC and protected by intellectual-property law. These Terms give you a personal, limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the Service for its intended purpose; they do not transfer ownership.
Scripture content currently displayed by Good Book is the Berean Standard Bible and remains subject to its source license and attribution. Apple, Supabase, OpenRouter, model providers, and other third parties retain their respective rights in their services, marks, and materials.
9. Availability, changes, and termination
We work to keep Good Book available, but the Service may be interrupted, delayed, changed, or discontinued. We may update these Terms, features, limits, supported devices, or third-party providers. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes when required by law.
You may stop using Good Book at any time. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users or the Service, comply with law, respond to fraud or abuse, or address a material breach of these Terms. You may request account deletion as described in the Privacy Policy.
10. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or suitable for every purpose, or that generated or third-party content will be accurate. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Idioglossia, LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, goodwill, data, or use arising from the Service. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us during the twelve months before the claim or US $50. These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law or to liability that cannot legally be limited.
12. Apple-specific terms
These Terms are between you and Idioglossia, LLC, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app and its content, maintenance, support, and claims relating to the app, subject to applicable law. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. Your license is limited to use on Apple-branded products you own or control as permitted by Apple’s Usage Rules and the Standard EULA.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce the Apple-specific provisions against you. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo and are not listed on a U.S. government prohibited- or restricted-party list.
13. Disputes and applicable law
Before filing a claim, please contact us and give us a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue informally. These Terms are governed by applicable law, including any mandatory consumer-protection laws in your place of residence. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
